Goal 13 - Combating climate change

Climate change is a major threat to our entire planet. As our emissions continue to rise, so does the temperature of the earth. It affects both the availability of water and the possibility of growing food and leads to the oceans being acidified and the risk of natural disasters increasing. By educating people and finding new environmentally smart solutions, we can reduce climate change.

Did you know that beer contributes to climate change? All types of alcohol production are a threat to our planet, but the worst is beer. The annual beer consumption in Australia emits as much greenhouse gases as 48 car journeys around the world!

Just by being here and reading this, you are actually making an effort to achieve the climate goal. The more people, like you, who increase their knowledge of climate change and share tips on how we can act, the greater the chance that we influence our people in power to make uncomfortable but necessary political decisions.

Tip!

Avoid driving!

Reduce the number of car journeys by trying to ride with other friends to school, training and parties. Cycle, walk or use public transport more.

Spread knowledge!

Spread knowledge about climate change at school and at home so more people can learn more about how we can combat them.

Less meat!

Emissions from livestock account for 14.5% of all greenhouse gases. By eating less meat, we also reduce emissions.

I have drawn a polar bear on an ice floe, the ice floe gets smaller and smaller because it gets warmer on earth. The polar bear is sad that the ice is melting and he soon has nowhere to live.
