Goal 12 - Sustainable consumption and production

Did you know that a third of the food produced is thrown away? That people buy and consume too much is a big problem. For the climate, the environment and us humans to feel good, we must both change how much we consume and in what way we manufacture things. Right now we are using more resources than our planet can handle.

Did you know that cereals are one of the most vital foods we have? It saturates large parts of the world, both humans and animals, but much of it is used to produce alcohol (wheat for vodka, malt for whiskey and beer, rye for bourbon and rice for sake), which makes alcohol an obstacle to achieving more sustainable consumption and production.

In addition to the raw materials, a lot of energy is used for alcohol production. We do not think this is a sustainable use of our natural resources.

In a future where water is predicted to become an increasingly scarce commodity, it is important that it is used for the most necessary things. Some "luxury goods" may have to opt out. What do you think you can opt out of?

Tip!

Turn off!

Turn off the lights and turn off all electrical appliances when you are not using them.

Do not throw away food!

Did you know that between 20-50% of all food we buy is thrown away? Plan your food purchases with your family and do not buy food unnecessarily.

Start sorting at source!

Every Swede throws about 500 kg of soups a year. By sorting at source, we can reuse raw materials and save on the earth's resources.

“Two rats have a romantic dinner at a dump, where they share a juicy apple powder. A cockroach scouts down towards them, with an old doll as a lookout tower. A centipede crawls through an old boot and the remains of a buckling stare blankly into the air. It can be so beautiful with garbage. Too bad to throw them away. ”
