The IOGT-NTO Movement works internationally to strengthen people and communities to prevent harm from alcohol and other drugs. Through our work, poverty, ill health, violence against women and children are reduced and people's resistance to alcohol and drugs is strengthened. We work at the local and national level in 12 countries in Asia, East Africa and the Western Balkans to increase knowledge, strengthen organizations and mobilize for health-promoting alcohol legislation. We are looking for an Economist who wants to join our global team with colleagues in Sweden, Thailand and Tanzania. You will work closely with both the finance team and with program managers.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure partners' compliance with agreements and that the financial guidelines for grant management are followed at partners in Asia and the Western Balkans, as well as customary financial tasks for the organization, such as ongoing accounting and payments. We use the Fortnox, Rillion One and Oxceed systems.

The duties include:

  • Project finance: from budget to financial statement and report
  • Quality assurance of partners' donor agreements
  • Work with financial reports from partners
  • Review partner organizations' contracts and budgets.
  • Work on the audit mission statement, audit report and audit action for partner organizations.
  • Capable partners in finance
  • Current accounting
  • Reconciliations
  • Payouts
  • Contact with bank and accounting.

The assignment also means supporting and strengthening partners so that they have good internal control and are responsible for disbursements of financial support.

We are a global team of 12 people where every employee is valuable and contributes with their experience and knowledge. Foreign travel is part of the job.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a relevant university education, such as a bachelor's degree in economics, or alternative work experience deemed equivalent by the employer.

For the position, you need to take initiative, be good at structuring and planning, analytical and have good oral and written skills in Swedish and English. You enjoy working in a team as well as you find it easy to work independently. You have experience in civil society and have a couple of years' experience in handling donor funds, for example from ForumCiv and Radiohjälpen, experience in working with audit instructions and working with bookkeeping and project reporting. It is advantageous if you have lived and worked abroad and have knowledge of a third language.

The employment is 100% fixed-term employment with the possibility of permanent employment. Access 15 August 2024 to 31 March 2025.

You have unregulated working hours and are located at our office in Klarakvarteren in central Stockholm with the possibility of working from home. Furthermore, we offer both wellness time, wellness allowance and a good working community. We have a collective agreement between the Employers' Alliance - the Union, the Association of Academicians and the Leaders.
