IOGT NTO Movement in partnership with Blue Cross Youth Community Based Organization (BCYCBO) have facilitated a "Youth United Against Alcohol Harm” project in Kisumu Kenya (East Africa), the project focuses on reducing alcohol harm and promoting a sober lifestyle to the youth in the community.

Beisy Amanda (19 years) one of the beneficiaries of the project born and raised in Nyawita – Kenya. Joined Blue Cross in 2018 as an actor/dancer but later developed interest in modelling. Before joining the Program, Beisy was occasionally using alcohol especially when she attended parties organized by friends or colleagues. After undergoing life skills training and counseling sessions that were prepared by the Blue Cross Youth Community Based Organization Kenya, she became aware of the effects brought by alcohol and decided to change her way of living by refraining from using alcohol and adopting an alcohol-free lifestyle, With great ingenuity she has helped other youth in transforming their life by eliminating substantial use of alcohol through her public speaking programs and motivated other youth to use their creativity in art and modeling just like her.

Her modeling skills made her participate in different competitions including Mr and Miss BCYCBO 2019 where she became the first runners up. In the year 2022, she has also participated in a beauty pageant in "Miss Valentine Kenya", an event that is conducted annually to allow young people to showcase their talents and spread love through their art and to those who deserved to be loved as well as promote their well-being. Out of 49 contestants from 47 counties in Kenya that attended. Beisy who represented Kisumu County emerged as the overall winner receiving several noble prizes.

Beisy has now been able to start her own modeling group which is named " Support the Dream” which works with youth and children on modeling and imparting communication skills that enables them to advocate and educate for the effect of alcohol and other drugs in their communities.
