Youth health instead of profit- prevention of alcohol related harm of young men and women
IOGT-NTO Movement, in partnership with the Center for Youth Work (CZOR), is embarking on a transformative five-year project focused on "Preventing Alcohol-Related Harm among Young Men and Women." The overarching goal is to promote the rights of youth and foster sustainable socio-economic development by mitigating the detrimental effects of alcohol.
Central to this initiative is the mobilization and empowerment of communities, including parents, young people, and civil society organizations (CSOs). Through capacity-building efforts, these stakeholders are equipped to create environments conducive to healthy development and to impart skills that enable young people to resist alcohol-related harm effectively.
The project also advocates for the adoption and enforcement of evidence-based alcohol policies through cross-sector cooperation. By fostering alliances at national and regional levels, the role of CSOs is strengthened, enhancing their capacity to influence policy and drive meaningful change.
Furthermore, the project aims to bolster the Center for Youth Work's capacities as a sustainable contributor to social development and the reduction of alcohol harm. This strategic approach ensures a comprehensive response to alcohol-related challenges, promoting resilience and well-being among young people while advancing broader societal goals.
